Fury Fanatics
Press Release

March 21, 2015 (Ottawa, ON): Ottawa Fury FC of the North American Soccer League (NASL) today announced a soccer community outreach program through which every registered soccer player 14 years of age and younger in the Ottawa/Gatineau Region can attend ALL Fury FC home matches at TD Place for free. The program, called Fury Fanatics, establishes partnerships between Fury FC and youth soccer clubs where the clubs distribute free memberships to their players. There is no cost to the club or to any youth player to join Fury Fanatics once the club has joined the program.

The Fury Fanatics program was announced at TD Place with players from its eight initial member soccer clubs, West Ottawa Soccer Club (WOSC), Ottawa Gloucester Hornets Soccer Club, Ottawa Nepean Soccer Club (ONESC), Nepean Hotspurs, Association de Soccer de Hull, Capital United, Rockland United and Almonte Soccer Club in attendance. “What a tremendous opportunity for our players to see the game played at the NASL professional level,” said Brian Mason, President of WOSC. “I’m delighted that Fury FC has embraced the youth soccer community with this program and I know our players are extremely excited for the home opener on April 18.”

“Fury Fanatics is our way of welcoming the entire youth soccer community to TD Place,” said John Pugh, President, Ottawa Fury FC. “Our objective is to have all young players from across the region enrolled in the program. Just imagine the atmosphere at TD Place with thousands of young players joining our established fan-base to cheer-on the Fury match after match in Ottawa’s world-class facility. I can hardly wait.”

All Ottawa/Gatineau area soccer clubs are eligible to join the Fury Fanatics program and provide their 14 and under players with free access to Fury FC home matches. As there is a limit to the registration numbers in this program club leaders are strongly encouraged to enroll as soon as possible.

Club leaders are invited to visit OttawaFuryFC.com for more detailed information on the partnership program and registration instructions.

“As we leave the ‘big chill’ behind us, it is clear that the Ottawa soccer community is looking forward to another season of Fury FC soccer on the ‘big green’ at TD Place,” said EODSA President Peter Studer. “On behalf of the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association, I would like to encourage all of our registrants to become Fury Fanatics!”

Fury FC plays 16 NASL home matches at TD Place between April 18 and October 18, including an Amway Canadian Championships match against FC Edmonton. A complete schedule is available on the Fury website, OttawaFuryFC.com
